Legendary traditional Sesotho musician, Motho oa Mabenyeng has scooped another award! Proudly born in rural village called Mangolong which is located in Matatiele Local Municipality, within the Alfred Nzo District in the Easter Cape Province, South Africa, Teboho Sputla Pitiri never lost hope on his music career. His album titled “Motho oa Mabenyeng” was nominated for a song of a year in different radio stations such as AMAQHAWANENTABA FM, SYABALANDA RADIO TV and also Thembisile & Thandie Awards in 2023.

“I will never forget my roots, I come from a poor background and still respect my culture. I am proud to win Amaqhawanentaba “Best Traditional award”, Tata Award in “Best Sesotho award” and KZN Namuhla “Best Sesotho Maskandi award”. This is the best thing to ever happen in my life, it really shows that hard work pays. On Saturday, the 27th December 2025 at Mangolong Hall, there will be a massive event where I will be thanking all my supporters and people who stood by me in my musical journey.

I urge all people who can come and sponsor the Mangolong creative 5th event and make it big. It is part of bringing back to the community, all businesses, sponsors and municipality can really make a huge different by supporting the event” he said.

His female group, Metjodi ea Mabenyeng has won “Tata best female group”, fellow artist, Setsetse won “KZN Namuhla Community Newspaper best male award” and Faila won “Amaqhawanentaba best Sesotho music award”.
