Born out poverty will never hinder someone to achieve his goals. William Monare Sethobya (39) was born at Ga Mathabatha, Maseseleng - Limpopo Province and currently residing in Dalmada - outside Polokwane due to work. Tsibiso or Mr Programme Director is a Radio presenter and one of the best MC around the province.
“Many people do not believe me when I tell them I worked as a security officer for 11 years. I spent most of my time listening to a radio and impersonating the presenters. Am talkative in nature and communicating with people has never been a problem for me. Growing up from a poor background always motivated me to push more harder”, he said.
Like many careers, Tsibiso said that being an MC is not about standing there and make jokes but needs lots of preparations. “I make a research before an event, its not always about money. People need to enjoy themselves and the programme must be in order”, he added.
There are still people who take an advantage of not paying our entertainers because of less exposure. Tsibiso faces the same problem where people need free service or pay less for his work, forgetting that transport need to be paid and food must be on the table also.
“I learned a lot during my journey, our clients think you just wake up and become an MC, they offer a little or want free service instead. However, I want to appreciate all the people who understand that being an MC is like any other job. My dream is to get a show on TV and motivate many aspiring MC’s there”, concluded Tsibiso.
